I am sooooooooooooo excited! I can’t believe that we have less than 8 weeks left! Earlier this week, all I could think was that the wedding seemed so far away. My Bridal Shower was last weekend and I kept thinking that now that the bridal shower was over, there wasn’t anything left to look forward to before the wedding and that was “so far” away. But now all I can think is that there are less than 8 weeks left and weeks just seem to fly by – it’s going to be here before we realize it!!!
The past two weeks went by so quickly! I was completely embroiled with invitations right up until last weekend. The invitations were a lot of work, but they turned out beautifully! I’ve been getting a lot of complements on the invites, which is very exciting to me because, well, they were a lot of work. But, they’re exactly what I wanted and even though I spent more than I was expecting to on them, I still would have paid twice as much if I bought them rather than made them myself. Here’s a pic of all the invites waiting to go in the mail:

I was so psyched to get them in the mail! I must have looked like a tool at the post office – I was grinning to myself as I walked out passing grumpy looking people in line.
Last Saturday was Heather and Jude’s wedding. It was a gorgeous day! The weather was beautiful and so was the wedding. Heather looked fabulous! The ceremony was at St. Pius X in Loudonville. After the ceremony, we all went to the Desmond – where most of the guests were staying – for a drink, and then went to Wolfert’s Roost for the reception. There was dinner and drinking and dancing – it was a fun night!

The next day was my bridal shower. My bridesmaids did such a great job!! The shower was at the Callaway Grill, which is right across the street from the Desmond, so it was really easy for my family members who were in from out of town to get there. They decorated the room with potted flowers and chocolate and white balloons – it looked great! The favors were cute 4 packs of glass coasters with “Love” etched into them tied with chiffon and little tags with our names and wedding date on them. The food was great and the girls ran the shower so smoothly that it only took 2 hours! I got so many great gifts!! It was so much fun!

Now, I just can’t wait for the wedding! There are a lot details to still attend to – but I’m not worried. I can’t wait!!!!!

The invitations are printed!!! Yayayayayayayayayayay! Now, I still have A LOT of work to do before the invitations are actually complete, including printing the inserts, adding some embellishments, mounting the cards together, addressing, assembling, stamping, mailing… Luckily, I still have almost 3 weeks to get all that done.
There are a lot of other details for the wedding that I’d love to start thinking about, but I think I’d better just focus on one thing at a time. I don’t want to get scattered and lose track of things. I guess that can be my motivation to get the invites done.
Back to work!

I am starting to get so freaking excited for our wedding! Now that we’re less than six months out, the to-dos on our planning checklists are coming fast and furious. I love to look at the things that we’ve been able to check off already:
- Booked a reception site.
- Bought a dress.
- Booked a photographer.
- Booked a DJ.
- Booked and met with Priest to plan ceremony.
- Sent Save the Dates.
- Created our Wedding Website.
- Chose Bridesmaid Dresses.
- Started our Wedding Registries at Target, Pottery Barn, and Macy’s.
- Booked a florist and decided on wedding day flowers.
- Reserved blocks of rooms for out of town guests.
When I start to get all freaked out about the things we haven’t gotten done yet (no baker booked yet, not sure on invitations, have got to hammer out details on favors, no tuxes picked out yet, haven’t booked a stylist, no idea on the honeymoon…) I like to switch my view to see my completed tasks so that I can feel all good about how far we’ve come already.
This weekend, I got to go to the bridal shop and try on my dress again. Well, not actually my dress yet. It was still the sample that I was trying on – my dress won’t be in until probably April. But it’s still a lot of fun trying on the sample because it happens to be just my size. I’ve shrunk about 12 lbs since I last tried on that dress (ROCK!) and I fit into it a little better this time. It looks soooooo awesome. SO amazing. I love it. So. Very. Much. I can’t believe that I’m only going to be able to wear it one time. It’s so not fair. It makes me want to make weekly appointments at the bridal shop to go and just wear it. That would make me crazy, I guess. Whatever.
The purpose of the appointment yesterday was to shop for accessories. I ended up finding a headpiece and veil that I loved but they just seemed so expensive that I didn’t commit to them yet. I spent most of the day today scouring the internet to try and see if I could find those or something similar to them online cheaper, but it’s so hard to tell if the details are the same. Alex thinks that I should just get the ones that I liked from the bridal shop because, while they are expensive and it does seem crazy to spend that much on something that I will wear once, he reasoned that, “everything is crazy and expensive about weddings.” He has a point. We’ll see. I think I’ll continue to shop around online for a little while and see what I can find and if I don’t find anything that I’m in love with an confident enough about to buy online, I’ll just go back to the shop. Besides, that will give me an excuse to try on my dress one more time.
