I've been blogging at aliwolly.com since the Spring of 2002. I always intended for it to be an online diary, and I didn’t think that it would last long - I think my first post even said something to the effect of, “I probably will never remember to post to this thing.” I’ve always been the type of person to get very excited about a shiny new thing, but once some of the shininess wears off, I tend to lose interest. Fortunately, I periodically did remember to post and the blog survived.
I never pretended that I had anything fascinating or profound to share with the world – I always wrote for myself and didn’t really intend for my posts to have an audience beyond me. I kept the blog online, though, because it was very convenient to be able to access my living journal from anywhere and any device. After the birth of my son, I began to rethink the amount of information I had publicly accessible. And then I discovered that someone used one of my son’s ultrasound pictures without my knowledge or permission, so I decided to make my blog private.
I do have another blog that I started where I can share some of my creative endeavors without having 11+ years of diary archives and personal pictures freely available. If you’d like, come visit me there. If you’re a close friend or family member, you can request access to my personal blog. Thanks for visiting!
