I decided to tackle a quick sewing project this evening. I rarely write checks, but I bought Girl Scout Cookies from a coworker and needed to bring my checkbook in to pay for them. I had a hard time finding it shoved in my desk in the living room and it was pretty pathetically beat looking. I decided that I needed a checkbook cover. I had fabric and interfacing left over from the Crayon Roll that I made for Nora for Christmas and a quick Google search found me a pattern. I can’t do curves yet, so I ended up modifying the pattern a bit to accommodate my lack of any expertise and apparently I can’t really sew in a straight line yet (sigh). I think it came out good enough to use though and it’s pretty cute. If I had a button or some thinner ribbon to make a little bow I’d add something like that to the front of it – something I can add if I’m bored in the future.
